On this one day course you'll learn how to:
Although primitive reflexes can be retained in all ages, this may just be the missing piece to your toolkit when working with children!
WHAT ARE PRIMITIVE REFLEXES?
As a reminder, primitive reflexes are automatic stereotyped movements directed from the brain stem that assist our survival in the first stages of life.
By the age of two, the higher brain centres should have inhibited the reflexes to allow the more sophisticated neural structure to develop.
Sometimes, primitive reflexes are retained, which can prevent neurological development meaning the central nervous system remains immature.
WHY IS IT IMPORTANT TO INTEGRATE RETAINED REFLEXES?
If primitive reflexes are retained, children will struggle to keep up with expectations of learning and behaviour. They will end up compensating and developing techniques to 'get by', often leaving them feeling frustrated and misunderstood. There is also a high risk of learning and behavioural issues, as well as attitude problems, meaning their whole experience of life can be much more challenging for them.
That's why I'm so passionate about this work we can offer; our help can make a big difference to little people, as well as adults who didn't realise there was a neurological reason for the things they've been struggling with for so long.
